Earlier this month, our Superstar board member Ashley Crawford, along with her husband Ollie and their daughter Grace, welcomed neighbors and friends to their front yard for the second annual Popsicles & Prosecco event!

Ashley has proudly served on our board for one year and is an active member of the Junior League of Charlotte, which has supported our mission in many ways. Her dedication to empowering girls was on full display at this event.

The theme of “Bold Hearts” reflects the spirit of our new curriculum, Hello, Bold Heart, which encourages girls to embrace confidence, empathy, and courage. Ashley’s event beautifully embodied this mission—bringing together the community to celebrate connection, generosity, and empowering the next generation of girls.

What began as a simple idea—offering free popsicles, prosecco, and a chance to connect with the community—has grown into a joyful celebration of community, connection, and girl empowerment. Kids ran around with popsicles in hand, neighbors mingled, and meaningful conversations about Girls on the Run Greater Charlotte filled the air.

Ashley first hosted this event last year, raising an incredible $940 for our scholarship fund. This year, the generosity of attendees helped raise $2,400, allowing us to provide even more girls with financial assistance to participate in this life-changing program.

We are so grateful to Ashley and her family for showing what bold hearts in action look like, and for helping us continue our mission to keep girls running, growing, and thriving.
