CaroMont Health Steps into a New Partnership

with Girls on the Run Greater Charlotte

Local nonprofit welcomes a new sponsor to help elevate their mission in Greater Charlotte.

Greater Charlotte, NC September 10, 2026 – Today, CaroMont Health announced its sponsorship of Girls on the Run Greater Charlotte. Girls on the Run (GOTR) is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering 3rd- to 8th-grade girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident. During the 8-week season, the after-school program combines physical activity with lessons centered on developing essential life skills and culminates with a celebratory 5K. To kick off the partnership with GOTR Greater Charlotte, CaroMont Health will sponsor $15,000.

“Girls on the Run Greater Charlotte embodies exactly what we believe in at CaroMont Health—investing in the wellbeing of our community across Gaston, Cleveland, and Lincoln counties. By supporting this program, we're helping to build confident, healthy girls who will grow into strong, resilient women. This partnership aligns perfectly with our commitment to compassionate care that extends beyond our hospital walls."

CaroMont Health is dedicated to providing compassionate, exceptional, and highly reliable care, guided by their CARES values — Compassion, Accountability, Reliability, Excellence, and Safety — which shape how they treat patients, support each other, and serve their communities.

By supporting GOTR Greater Charlotte, CaroMont Health will directly make a lifelong impact on girls in the Greater Charlotte region.

“We are thrilled to continue working with CaroMont Health in our Girls on the Run community,” said Raychelle Robinson, executive director of GOTR Greater Charlotte, “This sponsorship will further the mission of CaroMont Health as they support us in serving thousands of girls every year, helping our participants reach their limitless potential.”

With research-based curricula and trained volunteer coaches, GOTR Greater Charlotte has been inspiring girls in the Greater Charlotte area to boldly pursue their dreams since 1996. The nonprofit delivers these lessons during a time when girls need it the most. According to a 2023 survey from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, nearly three in five U.S. teen girls felt persistently sad or hopeless in 2021, representing a nearly 60% increase and the highest level reported over the past decade. Another CDC report showed that only 24% of 6- to 17-year-olds participate in at least 60 minutes of daily physical activity every day. CaroMont Health’s sponsorship of GOTR Greater Charlotte will help improve the mental and physical health of girls in the Greater Charlotte area.
